Hello
“Music, and singing in particular, present the best ways and means to expressing ones innermost feelings, when spoken words alone are incapable of conveying what is deeply rooted in your heart.” Atorod
Engineering, Science, Art, Music and Sports form important pillars of Atorod’s life. A highly regarded internationally recognized university professor and an accomplished martial artist, Atorod has both a strong sense of consciousness to social issues and the environment and a deep seated passion for music and singing. His two-plus decades academic career has included numerous contributions to and awards from the field of engineering, among them the prestigious White House Champion of Change: Transportation Innovator Award, given by President Barak Obama and presented to him at the White House in October of 2015, recognizing, Atorod’s contributions in bridge engineering.
Atorod’s lifelong passion for singing led him to embark on serious training in pop and traditional Persian music (sonata music). He has worked with several music composers, song writers and vocal coaches that includes, Farid Zoland, Shahyar Ganbari, Anita Wilson and Stevie Mackey.
Atorod’s academic pursuits, coupled with his awareness of and attention to social issues, justice, and the environment, have become the common thread of his music, which he fills with rich content and positivity. Atorod expresses it this way. “I see a common thread between being a University Professor and a singer who values music filled with rich content. Through music filled with rich content, we communicate to people, our friends, our deepest thoughts, feelings, and emotions and the way we see the world, in most engaging and pleasant ways. Being a University Professor, is the most rewarding job in the world. The gratification of transferring your knowledge and passing it on to a next generation who will be future leaders is beyond comprehension. Both teaching and singing value high morals.”
